Old Conversations
Once, with an acquaintance, the conversation turned to Pompeii. This acquaintance could not understand why Pompeii had been destroyed and on some level, felt that God was unjust in so doing. The reply supplied to this acquaintance was that God never destroys anything without first giving ample warning. This person refused to believe that this was so, and decided immediately to block the people who agreed with the assertion. All of this was curious, to say the least, since Pompeii was, and this is putting it mildly, a place where the ultra-rich engaged in all manner of illicit sexual relationships. It was, as a town, little more than a very fancy whorehouse. It was destroyed because of these sexual impurities and a refusal to stop engaging in them.
Older Decisions
In the Bible there are plenty of stories where sexual misdeeds cause mischief. A good starting place is with King David, who, as it will be recalled, saw “Bathsheba bathing on the roof”. This was a ceremony that women performed after their monthly uncleanness to purify themselves. Bathsheba was all ready considered married, and so was David. This did not, however, stop David from immediately sleeping with her. She became pregnant, and while her husband was away at war, David made sure to “off him” so he could have Bathsheba as a wife. Any one of these things we might say is “bad” but when Satan comes to bring a case against David for this deed, there is only one thing YHVH holds him to account for–that she was not yet “ripe”–meaning that she was young. YHVH even goes so far to say that Bathsheba was his since the beginning of the Earth. Therefore, if anything, David is guilty of partaking of “unripe fruit”.
Later on, we find YHSVH cursing the fig tree because he is hungry but it is out of season and does not yet have figs. Again, the issue is timing, desire, and appetite. The tree will not bear fruit, however, until a later appointed time when He returns.
Here, we can see a connection between Eve, the eating of forbidden fruit, and a kind of adultery which acts at inappropriate times on wrong principles.
Later on, we find the Prophet Nathaniel stating flatly that David did evil. Not coincidentally, we find the disciple Nathan, sitting under a fig tree according to the testimony of the Messiah as recorded.
Oldest Conversations
All of these events feature, in one way or another, lying and serpents and curses and desire.
Building until current day, the recent Earthquake in Turkey struck also Syria. Turkey, we are told (mount Ararat chain), is where Noah’s ark landed, and Syria it is reckoned is where humanity started in Mesopotamia which we could take to be the Garden of Eden location or at least a part of it. Syria, it is widely known, has been packing nerve gas and other undesirable substances and is thought to be the place from which the end time battle against Israel will be launched by Russia and China. Turkey has had several waterways turn “red” which is explained away as being algae blooms, but in the continuation of this discussion are warning signs of “blood in the water”. From Noah, we know that the lineage of Seth continues as Noah is counted as righteous. Everything after the flood, though, is commingled with “not as righteous” although we are told that Abraham learns from Noah about YHVH in books considered to be extra-Biblical. Haran, where Abraham moves to, is around the area of modern Syria.
So What’s Up With the Event Happening Now?
Either YHVH knows the timing precisely, or He does not. If He does not, that would make Him a liar, which He is not, so we have one option left to us. Something is up we ought to be paying attention to. The issue, as it appears, relates to money. How do we get there? Follow along.
Apocalypse and Weights and Temples
During the Temple time period, one had to be certain the weights were correct on the scales for grain offerings and meat offerings. Unfair scales were considered to be cheating God. In the market places, unfair scales were also deeply frowned upon and considered to be unholy. We know that this scale system is applied to the heart and sins as the heart is literally measured during Yom Kippur which falls during the sign of the scales, or Libra. Hence, cheating and lying in business or the market was tantamount to cheating God.
7:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
This verse is from Revelation and concerns an economy that is based upon a famine where there is a shortage of wheat which produces bread and is the staple of life. Therefore, the solution to “unfair weights” or measures is to cause the essentials of life to become hard to afford for “workers”. Put differently, everyone is too busy working on the wrong things, which cause divine displeasure and a famine.
A Correction
I looked again – and there before me was a flying scroll. He asked me, ‘What do you see?’ I answered, ‘I see a flying scroll, thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide.’ And he said to me, ‘This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished. The LORD Almighty declares, “I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of him who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in his house and destroy it, both its timbers and its stones.”’ Then the angel who was speaking to me came forward and said to me, ‘Look up and see what this is that is appearing.’ I asked, ‘What is it?’ He replied, ‘It is a measuring basket.’ And he added, ‘This is the iniquity of the people throughout the land.’
Then the cover of lead was raised, and there in the basket sat a woman! He said, ‘This is wickedness,’ and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed the lead cover down over its mouth. Then I looked up – and there before me were two women, with the wind in their wings! They had wings like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth. ‘Where are they taking the basket?’ I asked the angel who was speaking to me. He replied, ‘To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it. When it is ready, the basket will be set there in its place.
Zechariah 6:1-11
There are several layers present here. Babylon is known to be Shinar, which is known to be Iran or Iraq but sometimes is considered Syria also since most believe Syria to be the launching pad of a future attack on Israel by the forces of Babylon. The woman in the basket above must be the same wicked woman riding the dragon in Revelation otherwise known as the whore of Babylon. Babylon, naturally, seeks to build her a house which, over time, becomes an enemy of Israel.
Wickedness Against Israel is Babylon
So, we know that wickedness against Israel is a defining characteristic of Babylon along with child sacrifice and other “sexual matters” that appertain to Babylon. We can go back to David in Israel to understand the matter, but what makes David’s situation different and indeed Israel different is that it realizes sooner or later, that something went wrong with the desire. YHVH holds David for Bathsheba not yet being ripe. The problem here is that he “rushed the process” and did not trust that YHVH would give him Bathsheba and so took matters into his own hands.
The Acquaintance
The acquaintance was a friend of Pompeii, which is an enemy of Israel since any friend of the Harlot is a friend of Babylon. So why was Turkey and Syria hit by an earthquake? A good guess is purification of wrong desire. There are the disturbing references offered by Issac Kappy that concern footage of what appears to be very young men and women in a Turkish bath providing some kind of “service”. Kappy, we know, declared himself to be a Judas and threw himself off a bridge for doing something related to “money” that he should not have done. We know Syria is dealing in nerve gas and possibly nuclear weapons from time to time. We know also that it is considered to be a place with links to the end times. Remember, Bathsheba’s bathing water would have been most likely “blood tinged” for obvious reasons. Bathsheba was not to blame, as she was doing the prescribed action. David, however, had some impurities in him and let his desire get the better of him. He ate the “forbidden fruit”.
Asking for Help From Israel
In the end times there is a prophecy that Damascus will be rendered helpless. Indeed, Syria is asking for help from Israel as is, presumably, Turkey. The quake did not happen without warning, and is most likely being caused by some desire present in Turkey and Syria concerning money and Babylon in all the wrong ways. Israel then, is being literally required to show mercy to those who wish its destruction from a prophetic standpoint. This does not mean Israel is perfect. It only, if anything, means that YHVH is working with His people to show them something about His nature, as it was from the beginning. Still, it is a heck of a ride to just get back into the garden.
